Valentine's Day Light-Up Card!

Light-up cards make the world a brighter place! Join us on February 12th from 2 – 3:30 PM to learn the basics of circuits and make a custom, light-up Valentine’s Day card for a loved one!  Plus, you’ll leave with extra materials to teach at least 2 friends how to make a light-up card! Wooo paper circuit after-party!!

 

More specifics on what you’ll learn: the basics of electricity, circuits, and LEDs (light emitting diodes), how to build switches, and how to source materials for simple electronics projects.


This event is open to women, girls, and LGBTQ folks ages 16 and older. Younger participants are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. Thank you!

About the Instructor:

Jen Fox is an engineer with a diverse and broad range of experience in both industry and education, with positions ranging from a dark matter detection researcher to a Hacker in Residence for SparkFun Electronics. Jen’s project-based educational approach gives students practical knowledge in STEAM (Science-Technology-Engineering-Art-Mathematics) subjects, so that students continue to build on and share their knowledge and skills well beyond the workshop.
