Celebrate the return of Spring by discovering the wonderful world of circuits and crafting a custom light-up card tomorrow, March 21st 2017!

In this project-based learning workshop, you’ll discover electricity, circuits, and light emitting diodes (LEDs), including where to source inexpensive electronic components for your future electronics crafting needs.

About the Instructor, Jen Fox:

Jen Fox is an engineer with a diverse and broad range of experience in industry and education, ranging from a dark matter detection researcher, to a Hacker in Residence for SparkFun Electronics. Jen’s project-based educational approach gives students practical knowledge in STEM subjects, so that students continue to build on and share their knowledge and skills well beyond the workshop. Go forth and build!

Make a Light-Up Valentine’s Card!

Valentine's Day Light-Up Card!

Light-up cards make the world a brighter place! Join us on February 12th from 2 – 3:30 PM to learn the basics of circuits and make a custom, light-up Valentine’s Day card for a loved one!  Plus, you’ll leave with extra materials to teach at least 2 friends how to make a light-up card! Wooo paper circuit after-party!!

 

More specifics on what you’ll learn: the basics of electricity, circuits, and LEDs (light emitting diodes), how to build switches, and how to source materials for simple electronics projects.


This event is open to women, girls, and LGBTQ folks ages 16 and older. Younger participants are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. Thank you!

This holiday season, we’re pleased to offer special workshops to help ease the gift-giving craze, led by yours truly, Jennifer Fox! Learn the basics of circuits and craft a personalized light-up card to dazzle and impress friends and family. We’ll also have paper circuit kits for sale as gifts or for your own nefarious crafting purposes! (Muahahaha! Or…wait…should it be “Hohoho?”)

 

We are offering this workshop twice during the month of December:

1. Wednesday December 7th @ 6:00 – 7:30 PM

2. (LADIES ONLY) Sunday December 11th @ 2:00 – 3:30 PM.
